Mama Zee and I shared the same taste in fashion. She loved to collect clothes. I used to look forward to going into her basement to “shop” for treasures after I became old enough to wear her vintage clothes. I would spend hours looking at and trying on clothes whenever I visited her. She shared my love for treasure hunting; after I enlisted in the military, I sent a portion of my pay to her every month, so that when I came to visit we could shop guilt-free at the many vintage shops in Philadelphia. We used to try on clothes, and pretend to be other places doing any number of things (a grown-up version of dress up). Other times we would browse, and talk incessantly about anything that came to mind. PaPa Frankie was like a big, warm, fuzzy teddy bear when I was younger. My siblings and I would snuggle with him whenever he was around; he loved the attention. Whenever we came to visit, he would walk to the park with us, and watch us play for hours.
Some of my most memorable experiences revolve around spending time with my grandparents.
